A Legacy of Enterprise and Education

Dr. M. Modaressi Tehrani was a visionary entrepreneur and scholar whose career spanned continents and industries. He laid the foundation of his business in the late 1970s with "Barter International (BI)" in The Middle East, pioneering complex barter deals within the food industry.

His global ambition led him to the United States, where in 1988 he established "Eksports Overseas" at the World Trade Centre in the San Francisco Bay Area. The firm rapidly expanded into a major international trading company, handling a diverse range of goods from importing Swatch® watches to exporting frozen chicken to the Middle East.

Returning his focus to Iran in the 1990s, he founded Meysour Inc., which became a leading exporter of food products—shipping molasses to The Netherlands, tomato paste to Tunisia, and fresh apples to Libya.

Beyond his business acumen, Dr. Tehrani was a lifelong intellectual. Educated in Los Angeles, California and Boston, Massachusetts, USA, he was a prolific author of more than ten books and countless articles. He first gained national recognition at the age of 19 with his groundbreaking book, "English Step by Step," which became an instant household name and remains in print decades later as a foundational language-learning tool. His final work, "The Eksporter (Saderatchi)," distilled his vast experience into a practical guide for a new generation of entrepreneurs.

In recognition of his significant contributions to society, the Ministry of Culture honored him with a final resting place in a garden cemetery reserved for individuals of great renown, cementing his lasting impact on both commerce and culture.
